This Week’s Quotation:
“There is a great tendency in our culture to attribute the cause of things to the world of space and time. It seems easier to believe that the causative factors in our life are things that happen away from us, as opposed to inside of us, and in the past as opposed to the present. The Big Bang Theory is one example of this. It pushes the causative factor for creation as far as it could possibly get from the individual.”

Creating in the New Year

As we begin a new year, I invite us to remember that we are creators. Whatever is happening in the world of space and time can be used—but it is not the end result, not the final product.
To see how true this is, just look at the weather and the season. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are just past the winter solstice. The days are still short, the nights long, and the air colder. Does that make you miserable? For many, this dark time offers a chance to be still, quiet, and reflective. It’s a season to create a sense of warmth and hominess, to gather together and nurture connection.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the days are filled with light and warmth, another wonderful opportunity to create, both personally and as a community.
The crucial word in all of this is create.
We can create, and in doing so, we prevail.
From the simple act of preparing a meal to share with loved ones, to creating a peaceful space where we can rest, read, or dream—we are actively shaping our world. Every act of creation can be an act of love and resilience.
You and I are born of the same creative energy that continues to move through us. Every season, every circumstance holds seeds of possibility—opportunities for life to prevail, for new expression to unfold. Each feeling, each person, each moment is filled with potential.
You are the one and only you—a unique individual filled with the power to create something magnificent.
And together, you and I can create something special, something powerful.
I’m up for it.
Are you?
What does it mean to become a sun?
Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

How true, Jane, that we are creators no matter what time of the year we’re in. I’ve been often affirming the words from Revelation, “Behold, I make all things new.” We don’t require new things to create, just let the creators that we are embrace, enliven and energize the existing things that we work with every day.
