This Week’s Quotation:
In taking action, you are letting all that you have generated in the creative process to this point precipitate a physical act. You are applying your strength to manifest in physical form what you have felt and thought internally. You are taking the intelligence generated through the mental body and letting it direct your physical body.
I have seen people become paralyzed when facing this step in their own life. For some, they would rather retreat to an inner reality of thought and emotion and avoid or downplay the need to act. I have seen groups of people break apart because they would rather think, talk, and feel than do something.

The Thrill of Creating

Taking action can be terrifying and it can also be exhilarating and creative. The very act of asking for something can feel risky especially if there is a fear of the “no.” We’ve all gotten one or two. Just recall a time you wanted to ask someone to dance or go on a date. My stomach still clenches a bit remembering the fear of rejection, and I also recall the excitement when I got a yes.
Taking action and creating something new often requires a process of consideration and planning, and there is the manifestation of all that preparation waiting to burst forth.
I often give the advice, When in doubt, wait 24 hours. Things will look different then. Or go slow for a day and see how things look while going at a different pace. You may find your anxiety is less and your excitement for what’s next is calling you. And then with all that preparation and clear thinking, Go, Act, Ask, Move, Jump, Create.
Fear of failure can be paralyzing but the thrill of creating is like nothing else I know. This step is a must if we are to create a new and beautiful world!
What does it mean to become a sun?
Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

When in doubt, wait 24 hours.
A really wise decision!!!
We are here on earth as creators and to be “God in action on earth.” And we have an infinite source of Love to power our action. So obviously there is no excuse for failing to act!
Absolutely, Jane. We were birthed by a CREATOR, not a procrastinator, nor retreating hermit. It is my purpose to create – and not just music, theater, books, poetry, and so forth – that is often what people think creation means. But I need to surrender to God such that my entire life is one with the creative flow of LIFE. And this can show up in all kinds of ways — my prayer, breath, walks, conversation, and on and on can be creative if I am not relying upon the good old “same old, same old” of the vegetative state. Let’s create and be surrendered to the Creator. With you and David in this strong spirit. Love, Tom C.
There is an element of perception involved. For example. when I moved from bustling, sprawling Toronto to the much smaller and more intimate St. Thomas, it was a big move which meant leaving behind an active theatre life and many friends, but gradually, the perception grew in strength and clarity that this move was necessary for my spiritual development — which has proven big time to be true. So there was reluctance to overcome and significantly, the reluctance to leave behind a large measure of comfort and familiarity. But the truth is that we yield to the inner creative compulsion and prosper, or refuse it and wither. We move either towards more abundant life, or towards diminishment and death. Those are the stakes. Currently, I’m sending out poems to publishers after years of resistance, and receiving both acceptance and more often, refusals, . I’m doing it because I perceive that the time is right, and that is the reward, whether a poem is accepted or not. Creative action is life and there is nothing more fulfilling and wondrous than that.
