This Week’s Quotation:

If you were an eternal Spirit Being of the cosmos, why would you have chosen to incarnate as you? According to the Creation stories around the world, that is exactly what has happened. You’ve chosen to be here on this planet, in this time, and in this place.

Claiming Your Life

Gary Goodhue,
Spiritual Teacher, Workshop Leader

Have you ever questioned your existence? Or thought that you being here on Earth in a human body at this time was a mistake?

Maybe you’ve had a personal experience of “It’s a Wonderful Life.” I know that I have. For a moment, you can’t imagine that your life has brought any value and believe that others would be better off without you in their experience. It’s an illusionary moment of doubt and unworthiness that passes but seems so real when you’re in it. Going through that experience helps us awaken to the truth of how valuable we really are.

Your incarnation was not a cosmic roll of the dice. There is nothing random about you. Your specific configuration of personality, skills, and talents are exactly the gifts that your world needs. You chose all of it ahead of time and along the way!

As you begin to claim the experience of your life as your own choice and creation, then you gain great power by accepting that level of responsibility and ownership. No longer are you subject to friends, family, community, culture, the world, or God for being at blame for your experience of yourself or your life. No longer are you a victim to anything outside of yourself.

You created the experience of who you are and the circumstances in which you find yourself. Giving your unique gifts into your world will open up a new expanse of joy and fulfillment that will lead to knowing the truth for yourself that indeed “It’s a Wonderful Life!”

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. With all of the challenges and difficult circumstances I have faced in this life, I sometimes wonder why I ever made the decision to incarnate on earth at this time and in the physical form that I have. And yet now, from the perspective of my 83rd year on the planet, I see it was all meant to be just as it was and is. My life has basically been a rich life of service to the Creator and the world and has hopefully brought humanity one step closer to a state of experienced oneness and union with Universal Being.

  2. Thank you, Gary. yes, its so important for me to realize and act upon the knowledge that I am constantly creating my own life and circumstances. None of it is a result of random pins constantly stabbing me, the pincussion. It is up to me to continually create no matter what the adversity or seeming emptiness of many parts of the outer world. Thank you so much – and my love is with you. Aloha from Oahu, Tom C.

  3. So beautifully put Gary, thank you.

Knowing that we are here on this planet at this time on Purpose – can really help ‘calm the waters’ in those moments when one might jokingly – or maybe sometimes more seriously say to the Universe – I want to take a better look at that Contract I supposedly signed. 🙂

    Love to All – Katie-Grace
