This Week’s Quotation:
…the grace of God has the possibility of interceding in another person’s life and changing it, of saying, “I don’t care what’s happened up to now; I don’t care what trajectory your life seemed to be on. It’s now changing to something wonderful in my presence.“
Becoming a Sun, p. 305
Self-Empowered
Sometimes, I want to wallow in my sorrow and be in my anger about being wronged. Have you ever experienced that? When you’re in “a mood” and someone comes along with positivity and love—you’d rather they leave you alone?
Welcome to a human pattern of being—thus far. Being in our victimhood can become addictive and the way we live our lives, even handed down and taught. We need to take responsibility for our quality of life to change this pattern.
My quality of life has become a high priority, and I practice prioritizing it at every moment as best I can. I am getting into a pattern of asking myself, What quality of life do I want to have at this moment? Doing so helps me step back from my current experience and be open to what is possible from a place of grace, understanding, and possibility. Acknowledging and accepting that I am worthy of this gift of life, I empower myself to take hold of my experience in each moment.
Self-empowerment is a gift to ourselves and our world because the more it becomes our pattern of being, the more we can provide that for others, and our world changes.
What does it mean to become a sun?
Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

Wow. Keahi, I thought that headshot photo of you was great but then I saw the picture of the REAL YOU at the top of this post — amazing! Go Keahi. yes, self-empowerment is the sign of the ANGEL. Momentary discouragement and self-doubt is always smaller than the over-arching assurance we know since we are conneced to the largest power generator known to humanity. Thanks for your terrific expression and your own self-empowerment. Love, Tom C.
“Sometimes, I want to wallow in my sorrow and be in my anger about being wronged. Have you ever experienced that?” Oh my gosh yes!!! The words – Its not fair can pop up as if that could stop or change the event!!!

Thank you Keahi – what a beautiful reminder and practice to stay in the place of grace – knowing that ‘bad’ things happen – and also good things happen – and our lives are better when we focus on the latter.
I think you would acknowledge, Keahi, that the self-empowerment we’re looking for must be established on the basis of SELF-empowerment, in other words, the Higher Self at the core of our own being. If we’re merely looking for ways to boost our sense of self with inputs from our external environment, we’re bound to be disappointed.
I love these words, “My quality of life has become a high priority, and I practice prioritizing it at every moment as best I can.” This is my priority as well, and I agree that as we do this, it is such a blessing to the whole world we center.
Beautifully written, Keahi, thank you! Yes! The only way of empowerment is, firstly, empowering ourselves through loving and caring of our well being. We do this in honoring the spark of loving breath and heartbeat given to us by the unseen One of All that lives within each of us. In recognition of this we now can give what is received of the love given as blessing to the world that comes to us each day.
