This Week’s Quotation:

Think of the way love is embodied in your own life—the love you share with those closest to you, or the love you share with the community of people that is around you. If you truly experience a body of love with other people, it was not created out of any kind of manipulation. A body of real love shared by people is built in one way, and one way only—through the clear expression of love over time. The wonder of love creates it. It is like a stone cut out without hands.

A Body of Love Shared With Others

David Karchere
Author, Becoming a Sun

Don’t you want that in your life? A body of love shared with others?

To experience it, many people look to a special loved one or their nuclear family. Others think of their chosen family or a community of whatever nature. To whomever you might look, how does it happen?

A body of love has to start with love. People have a lot of reasons to join with others. But if the desire to know and share love isn’t at the top of the list, love won’t sustain. It won’t build.

Most of us know that something else has to happen for love to endure. The love expressed by the people involved has to bear the unloving words and actions of others. The love expressed has to be unconditional, knowing that how it lands with others depends on where they are coming from.

The world the way it is can be filled with the disappointment of others. That can easily lead to disillusionment. It can lead a person to give up on knowing a body of love shared with others. Don’t. Be that person who affirms that we are made to love and live in that flow. Be that person who is the reason that a body of love builds wherever they are.

You are made to be that person, and so am I.

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. I am so grateful to be part of a spiritual community that is built on love and thrives on love. I seek each day to play my part in adding to that flow and in your words, David, being “that person who affirms that we are made to love and live in that flow.”
