Enlightenment Is Something You Give

David Karchere
Author, Becoming a Sun

We all have superpowers. Enlightenment is one of them. But like so many of the superpowers we possess as human beings, most of us never realize we have it. We never engage it.

What if Superman never jumped into the air to activate his power to fly? What if Spider-Man never learned that his hands and feet could stick to the sides of buildings?

To activate our superpowers, we have to see what disables them. We have to find our kryptonite.

In chapter five of my book, I make a full-frontal assault on this issue.

Think of the word enlightenment. So often, people think of it as something you attain. Or something you reach. Or that it is something you gain for yourself and your own edification.

What if this is a complete misunderstanding of the game of life? What if, instead of empowering our enlightenment, that way of thinking hobbled it?

If the human psyche assumes that it has to get enlightenment, it buys into the belief that it doesn’t have it. But that is not true. This is the kryptonite that disables our superpower.

Virtually every human being on the face of the earth has the light of wisdom, understanding, and higher consciousness within them. And we can each prove that for ourselves simply through the intention and desire to open to the source of it in ourselves and then offer it to the world—and most of all, to the people in our world.

Try it. You might not find an immediately blinding flash of light coming through you. But step by step, the source of all wisdom and intelligence will illuminate your world. If you let it.

Enlightenment is something you give.

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. I appreciate considering what is the kryptonite that takes away my superpower. When I am feeling helpless, overwhelmed or incapable of managing the circumstance, what just happened? I am not interested in spending my time analyzing this but I am paying attention so that I might open more fully the portal of love that never fails me and avoid those things that try to convince me that door is closed
