Joy

This Week’s Quotation:

Usually, there are things that a person could do to raise the quality of life that they are experiencing—things that could bring greater health, greater happiness, greater service to others, and greater fulfillment. But somehow people forget that. They think it always has to be this way. But it could be different—you could take an action that would make it different for you and for the people around you. You could increase the level of vibrancy and joy. How much joy and fulfillment can you stand to have in your life? How about raising the capacity to accept joy, to accept fulfillment?

Increased Joy

September is almost over. Where I am in Colorado, it is still warm. But it is autumn here and you can feel winter coming. We’ve even had our first snow.

Meanwhile, the events of our world continue. Today, the news reported that the government is locking down many of the places I just visited in South Wales due to coronavirus flare-up. In the United States, our politics are more bonkers than ever.

And then, I read the excerpt above from my book.

Joy. Hmm.

It has been a tough year for many of us. And we get so many messages from all around us that we should be worried, fearful, and unhappy.

Maybe this is a good day to remind ourselves that whatever is happening, it doesn’t help if we make ourselves any more miserable than we already might be, just because we are dealing with difficult circumstances. We do deserve to know joy and fulfillment. And if you want to call happiness a guilty pleasure, go ahead. Feel a little guilty. But be happy!

I don’t believe any of us need permission to be happy. It is the birthright given to anyone alive. But still, if you need permission, I’m delighted to give it to you.

No matter what is happening in your life right now, here is your permission to embrace the incredible joy of being alive in human form.

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.
