This Week’s Quotation:

Your world is living in the field of your conscious awareness. You might have focused on how you communicate what you are thinking to other people. But whatever you are thinking, whatever the quality of your consciousness, your creative field lives within it. Your consciousness provides a home for the people of your world. They can have a place where they feel like they belong because they are in your field.

Most people live their life with the understanding that they are a small part of a big world. While that is true at a physical level, there is another way to look at it. From the standpoint of your mental capacity, your conscious awareness is big enough to hold everything and everyone in your world. They all live there, in your mind, and in the atmosphere created by your thoughts.

New Thought on the Nature of Consciousness

David Karchere
Author of Becoming a Sun

Would you like to hike out with some new thought on the nature of consciousness?

When you think about it, state of mind is everything—everything we experience as human beings ends up there. It’s not that other dimensions of our human experience—our physical well-being, bank account, friends and family, and everything else—aren’t important. It’s just that they all contribute to our conscious state of mind.

And here is the disturbing thing. We don’t even really know what mind really is.

Certainly, there is a conscious choice and will involved for each of us. We can choose to think about certain things in specific ways. But even though it is true that how we engage with mind is a matter of choice for each of us, perhaps the mind we are engaging with is not strictly our own?

Here is a different way to understand what is happening. There is a field of awareness in our world—a field of consciousness that we are connected to. It contains the pattern of things. This is the mind that is holding all that transpires in our world.

Our connection to this field of mind is not only conscious. We are connected subconsciously and through the emotional energy in that field that connects to our own human heart. The more we realize this, the more we find that the field of mind is responsive to how we think and feel.

I had a vivid experience of this recently. I was lying in bed exhausted after a full day. I was having unusual feelings of tiredness and a lack of vibrancy all through my human soul. I can’t remember ever feeling like that before.

In the morning, I found out that a friend of a friend of mine had just died. It became clear to me that even though I was personally tired, the feeling I had was connected to this person who had lost their life during the night. I was then left with the responsibility of positively affecting—through the pattern of thought and feeling in which I chose to engage—the field of mind that was aware of the death. And the other people who were part of this conscious field had the opportunity to be positively affected as they engaged in the field of mind as it transforms under the influence of my thinking and feeling.

Far out? So tell me, how else can you explain the experiences we have of being connected to a field of awareness that reaches so far beyond ourselves in such mysterious ways?

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. Profound, true and exciting, David. I believe this in every fibre of my Being. If we can grasp this clearly we can turn this ship around before it hits the iceberg. There is not one atom in this universe that our consciousness doesn’t touch and interact with. We are many variations of the one Mind. Thank you so much for bringing this forward right now. This realization is everything.

  2. Sometimes I wonder how people see me in their minds – and if they would be surprised if they saw themselves in my mind. They might be surprised at how wonderful they are in my mind, I know I am surprised when sometimes people share with me how they see me in their minds…it makes me feel wonderful….it helps me to re-evaluate how I see myself….

  3. It is fascinating when we begin to realize that at times, what we feel, is not even ours – we have let it in from the Field. Blessings all…
