This Week’s Quotation:

I believe that every human being is called to greatness and that life is a thrill if we are in service to our calling, and from my own experience I would recommend this. Do not deny any premonition of your destiny. And do not try to impose a prophesy of the future on your life now. Give it an honored place in your heart, knowing that a true prophesy will bend the world of the manifest to itself over time. Meanwhile, external events do not define our calling. They do not establish the commission we receive from the Invisible. Whatever happens around you, you can honor that calling, that commission. Embrace it. It means everything to you. It is you, being a sun in your world.

Your Calling

David Karchere
Author, Becoming a Sun

This week, Keahi Ewa and I are conducting a 4-day in-person course at Sunrise Ranch, based on my book, Becoming a Sun: Emotional and Spiritual Intelligence for a Happy, Fulfilling Life. We are devoting a half day to each of the seven major chapters of my book, and we just finished covering the chapter of The Fusion of Fulfilling Mission.

Some people seem inclined to fulfill a mission that brings them worldly success. Others seem content to stroll through their life from one thing to another without any great hope or expectation.

Here is what seems important to me—that a person finds what is really important to themselves, no matter what anyone else thinks of it. That way, if they truly manifest it in their life, it will have real meaning to them.

I can’t imagine anything much worse for myself than working a lifetime on something only to find it doesn’t have any real value to me.

One of the joys of this course is that we help people find what has value to them. It is such a pleasure to see the fire in their bellies and the light in their eyes when that happens.

Here is what happened to me yesterday as I witnessed them and egged them on. I felt, more deeply than ever, how much I believe in what I am doing and the significance of it.

I told the participants yesterday that one way they might know they have answered their calling is when they have this thought: I would rather fail at this than succeed at anything else.

That’s true for me. What’s also true is that I am in it to win it. I am on fire about leading people to experience their primal spirituality. I am passionate about bringing Attunement to the world.

What calls to you?

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. Yes! I am with you in feeling a calling to great destiny. THANK YOU. And that is great about you and Keahi and the course. My wife and I so apprecaited taking the BECOMING THE SUN course and highly recommend it. Love, Tom C.

  2. What calls to me is an urge or desire I have felt almost from the beginning of my life to be of service to whatever created our beautiful planet and the life on it and to play my part in bringing the whole body of humanity back into precise alignment with the creative process emanating from Universal Being.

  3. I visited Sunrise Ranch in 1995 when a new friend told me about it. It was a deeply fulfilling week – I got to help with the little ones at the Little Dome and also help with food prep. It was outstanding and I knew I would somehow never forget it. In 2016 I knew I needed to change some things about my life – and as I was working on the computer – on a dark and cloudy day – suddenly – the sun rose in the middle of a wall-hanging I had created many years before. There was no sunshine outside – and I was transfixed seeing the sun expand in my wall-hanging. Within awhile – I suddenly remembered – SUNRISE RANCH!!! And in that moment I googled the Ranch and up came a page saying – Sunrise Ranch – Full Self Emergence Program – Apply now! And I did – right then and there (and – it was the last day the ad appeared – perfect timing). By February of 2017 I was on the Ranch and in the Program – a brand-new life – with brand new goals – and I am still here today…..
