Stillness 2013-09-22 18.18.22

Try this. Write in your journal, beginning with these words: When I walk in stillness…

You may draw a blank at first. But ponder those words. What happens when you move in your world in an internal state of deep stillness. When I walk in stillness…

Tonight was the opening session of The Way of Stillness: An Attunement Retreat at Sunrise Ranch. Twenty-nine of us entered our retreat space together to let our attunement with the source of life deepen. We journaled on this theme. When I walk in stillness… Then shared our journaling. And more.

I invite you to add to this blog by sharing your own meditations, beginning with these words: When I walk in stillness… Here is what I wrote.

When I walk in stillness, I hear the birds of the mountain woodlands. I am aware of the stones breathing and the elk grazing. I can feel my own body pulsing, alive.

When I walk in stillness, I bring peace to my neighbors. My presence calms and reassures, comforts and uplifts.

When I walk in stillness, I bring healing to my own soul, and healing to the soul of my friend and my brother, and to the weary one who comes to my door, looking for the way home.

When I walk in stillness I feel the breath of the universe flowing through me.

When I walk in stillness I feel the universal heartbeat in me and all life forms.

When I walk in stillness time collapses into the present moment.

When I walk in stillness time expands to include all of evolution.

When I walk in stillness I know I am the divine in physical form.

When I walk in stillness, I know the sweet contrast of physicality.

When I walk in stillness I AM.

Blessed Be stillness in this superficially busy human world.

………. I know a vivid connection with my creator, the divine, the all that is.
………….I feel the eternal nature of life, the flow of life, the power of life.
………….I sense the power of love through me and in me.
…………..my heart is full and my mind alert and creative.
………….. the appreciation for my capacities and all they represent is clear.
…………..I see your divine nature and the beauty that is you. My friends.
…………..the rocks and hills and trees and creatures and flowers come alive in a new way.
………….all is ONE in the way of stillness.

-When I walk in stillness the everyday sounds of work and cars and business fade away and I start to hear the voices of the natural world around me.

-When I walk in stillness the conversation changes from “what do I need” to “What do you need.”

-When I walk in stillness my thinking becomes radiant and original.

-When I walk in stillness the answers come.

When I walk in Stillness, NOW
I see you and feel you,
Stellar beauty i behold.
Let’s warm and melt our world from any left over frozen places
and return it to Oneness, NOW

When I walk in stillness the stars seem so much closer, the dark night sky closes comfortably around me and I can touch it’s inky blackness.
When I walk in stillness the throbbing of the noon day sun is the beating of my heart, and my steps have the spring of fresh greenness under foot.
When I walk in stillness I see joy in the faces of my friends and peace in their hearts, and I know my place among my companions.
When I walk in stillness I am the simple expression of solar radiance and my world grows all around me.

When I walk in stillness my body, mind and heart respond by relaxing into harmony with the Infinite. My surrounding world breathes a deep sigh of relief and all the disparate energies entrain with the True Magical Tone of Heaven. The irreverent noises of a life lived in shadow and ignorance quiet to a pregnant silence and Sovereign Presence brings order and beauty. The Sun shines into every dark corner and crevice.

When I Walk in Stillness….

I become centered in the present. I close off idle thoughts and interruptions from the world and turn inward. I start to expand my inner awareness of connection to all things in creation and the Creator. I AM the hawk, the earthworm, the pebble, the apple blossom, the honeybee, YOU and ME.
I find there is no need for anything but the stillness, the be-ing in stillness.

Stillness in not NOthing – it is everything. It is as vaporous as a cloud yet almost has a tangible quality – as if it is the moment before creation. The hush before the spark!

Stillness expects/requires nothing of me – only be-ing and allowing.

When I walk in stillness, cares and concerns recede
Leaving me to experience the magical beauty of creation within and without
This is when I experience inspired thoughts and the beginning of ideas on how they can manifest
Certain specific individuals come to mind and from that place of stillness, I extend blessing.
Circumstances around me seem to reflect the stillness from within me and wonders occur.
There is a timeless quality to this experience and from it I return to my busy-ness refreshed.

When I walk in stillness…..I am as a child in a mountain meadow, enjoying the cool grass on a warm summer afternoon; open, yielded, and vulnerable.

When I walk in stillness…..I am fearless and courageous.

When I walk in stillness I become aligned with life’s natural rhythm, I feel connected, and thoughts are set free to allow new possibilities to flow forth.

When I walk in stillness I am victorious. When I walk in stillness I know the Almighty.
