This Week’s Quotation:

There is an inner voice of truth calling. It inspires honesty and clarity in the way we relate to our own life and to other people. If we are to hear the voice that speaks with us and be that voice in our world, it takes a steady listening and our willingness to let the expression of that inner voice of truth come all the way through. And a person has to let any internal mental noise recede so that the voice may be heard.

Accord. Peace. Serenity. Letting those qualities reign internally, a person’s inner voice can take root and grow in the realm of their thoughts and feelings.

Answering an Inner Calling

David Karchere
Author, Becoming a Sun

I recently interviewed a woman. Interviews are such an interesting process. Usually, people do their best to make a good impression. And sometimes you get the feeling that a whole lot is going on for them that they are unwilling to show.

If the interview goes well, you get a peek at what is authentically transpiring in the person’s life. That’s what happened this time.

The more we spoke, the more I became aware that the woman I was interviewing is following an inner calling. She described her life and her work history. What became clear was that all along, she was looking for something. She felt a great urge to express herself and to live a life of highest service.

The spirit of her urge came out in words. But more than that, it came out in her enthusiastic voice and laugh. She was consciously answering her inner calling and unapologetic about it.

It can be inspiring to have someone reflect back to you what is happening for yourself. I thought, That’s what my life is about. I am answering the call of an inner voice.

Are you? I believe we all are.

Are you willing to be conscious of it?

What does it mean to become a sun?

Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

  1. Yes, David, I want to answer that inner calling too. Thank you. And at the risk of seeming to be only playing with language, I feel the best interviews should be called INNERviews because they reveal who the person is – rather than being a broadcast of the PR narrative that person wants told about themselves in public. May I be accountable to my INNER voice and let it be known — as you have done so well and often with your. Love, tom

  2. I also just had an interview with a woman, and it was obvious from her enthusiasm and also her delight in being in place where I work that the urge of Life was really stirring in her. It called forth a complimentary response in me and added a wonderful lift to my day.

  3. I have always loved this…

  4. Deep down in every soul is the knowing. When it is seen and touched by another human being, in acceptance and unconditional love, it draws forth the radiance of Oneness. How beautiful. Thank you, David, for your masterful drawing forth. May this be our mission, fully. To give each an opportunity to reveal their Truth of Being.
