This Week’s Quotation:
I know from working with people at depth for many years that most people are almost deathly afraid of their own feelings. They are often plagued, almost incessantly, by their own negative self-talk—their biting criticism of themselves and other people. They often feel unsure of who or what God is, or how to live their spirituality in the world. And I have observed so many people, including so many in the generation who are now in their twenties and thirties, who feel utterly betrayed by religion and by spirituality of any kind.
I’ve seen the darkness of that betrayal destroy the prospect of joy and fulfillment. So the most elemental factors of what it is to be a human being so often remain a mystery for people. We say that the great existential questions are “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?” as if these were mysteries that were ultimately imponderable. But this is knowledge that is part of our primal spirituality—the innate knowing that it is natural to us when it is not smothered by cultural and religious mindsets.

Innate Knowing
As I read these words from my book, I had a thought I have had repeatedly in recent days: The average person isn’t thinking about these things.
But I am, however it came to pass. I am deeply interested in the spiritual dimension of my own human experience. And my life path has led me to assist people to experience their own innate spirituality fully.
Then there is the world culture in which we all live—all at the same time, fascinating, glorious, and terrifying. It intrigues me and makes me so curious to understand what is happening and why. What’s beneath it all? And how is that playing out in my own life and with the people I interact with daily?
What I have come to see and understand is that something is broken in the heart and soul of humankind. Collectively, the connection with the Source of Life within us and with all of life has not completely ruptured. But it is thin. And it has lost a lot of its conductivity. So, our experience of inspirational energy is greatly reduced. That is what is behind the issues people face every day in their lives.
How did this happen? Knowing that we are, by our very nature, conscious beings, it is all about what transpired through the consciousness of humankind. It is hard to figure out all of what happened because we weren’t there for it. But we are living with the results and the habitual conscious patterns that were created.
The good news is that the reconnection with the inspiration of the energy of Source happens through consciousness, too—through opening our hearts and minds and tuning into the wisdom, power, and love that is at our core. This is the leading edge of the spiritual evolution of humankind. And it is the leading edge for all of us who are showing a way forward for the people we meet and for all of us together.
This journey is restoring the innate knowing that is hardwired into the human soul—the experience that is natural to us because that is how we are made.
What does it mean to become a sun?
Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.

It is such a relief and a joy to read your words! Spiritual orientation of conscious function is the responsibility of each and every one of us. Meticulous awareness of what resides in the reality of heart mind and body is the responsibility of each and every one of us. And then we get to join in working together from that knowing of Spirit. This is the Truth which allows us to create together. I give deep thanks!
Even though I’m experiencing something of a health crisis right now, the “innate knowing” that I am one with the Creator is not compromised and helps to sustain my physical form during this challenge.
David – “What I have come to see and understand is that something is broken in the heart and soul of humankind. Collectively.”
The past few days have demonstrated this unequivocally – war building upon war – declared and undeclared – primarily against civilians it seems – no longer any sense of ‘Rules of War’ – which have always ended up as wars against humanity – no matter where or when.
Thank heaven – even though it may not be so apparent as war – there is also the movement toward enlightenment – our hearts and souls are open in support of that movement.
