This Week’s Quotation:
From the starlit inner realms of Being,
Becoming a Sun p. 145
I speak of unfolding beauty,
Timeless reality,
And the opportunity that arrives new born with the morning sun.
I evoke remembrance
Of your deepest calling,
Your truest reality,
And your cosmic place
Here and now,
Holding this cycle of creation.
The Calling
We all feel it—the call to know ourselves in a larger context than we have yet accepted for ourselves. Maybe some more than others, and perhaps we feel it most acutely at certain times of our life. But still, it’s always there—the calling.
That’s one of the reasons I write poetry, and why I decided to make my book one of both poetry and prose. Prose is…well, prosaic. It tends to keep circling around the familiar. Good poetry can touch the ecstasy of knowing ourselves as part of a vast reality that transcends human personality and culture.
So are you feeling the calling today? Has your everyday world begun to feel uncomfortable? Is your heart desiring an experience of something more?
If so, take some time to bathe in the awareness of a reality of cosmic proportion. Write poetry, or listen to ecstatic music. Share an uncommon awareness with another person, even if it makes them think you’re losing it.
Be more genuinely yourself than you have ever been before. See if you don’t set your soul free.
What does it mean to become a sun?
Every human being is already a sun on the inside—a being of intense love and light. The difference is that some people have the vision and courage to become a sun on the outside. This difference is our human destiny.
